Assalamu Alaykum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh Mini Muslimahs, parents and dearest well- wishers.
A very very late Eid Mubarak to you all. I pray and wish you had a fantastic day of blessings, barkat and pressies. ( Oh yh and food!)
Im sure your all enjoying your Summer break- I sure am as Im writing this post whilst touring India.
For those of you who couldn't make it to the Ramadhan Fun Week- it was a excellent opportunity to meet new Mini Muslimahs, learn about your faith and have some fun by making or baking. Im sure those of you who did make it for the entire week or a couple of days can agree on this.
As a leader I can't explain how enjoyable this week was meeting the Mini Muslimahs. It felt like the Almighty had granted me a unexplainable amount of little sisters with different talents, personalities yet all of then were unique in their own way.
The journey of this Ramadhan fun week started when Something sparked within me. It played on my mind and I worked out in my head whether it would work out. Without much further ado I started creating posters and text messages. After a fantastic response I knew this was all with the help of the Almighty. When it came to planning the activities, spiritual circle time etc I would spend days upon days ensuring it was what the girls would enjoy and learn a lot from. The best part of this planning was going to buy the different resources required- obviously every girls loves to shop.
Monday 29th July finally dawned upon us. With mixed feelings of nervousness and excitement I knew this journey had to be fulfilled. With the amazing support of the helpers we made sure everything was in tact. As girls flocked in groups the excitement kicked in. I started with a introductory talk to aware the new girls what The Mini Muslimah Crew is all about and what we shall be doing this week.
On Monday the following things were carried out on the different stations (each girl took part in four stations which were twenty minutes long):
-A talk and game to talk about the wonderful things they've been blessed with in their life. Also the wonderful things about Ramadhan
-A opportunity to make a fruit mojito to share at Iftaar with family
-Get creative and make a Ramadhan checklist
- Spiritual circle time: importance of zikr and dua
The session ended with a Zikr Majlis, Hadith of the day and recitation of Surah Ikhlaas thrice as Isaale thawab for my dear uncle and all the mahroomeen.
When Monday ended I was so excited for the Tuesday. It was like the fast flew by in excitement.
On Tuesday the following was carried out on the different stations:
- A collective introduction
- A talk about Ramadhan around around the world with pictures of other countries and things we should be grateful for.
- A opportunity to decorate a pizza with different yummy toppings to share at Iftaar
- Spiritual Circle Time: Sabr and Shukr
The session ended with a Zikr Majlis, Hadith of the day and recitation of Surah Ikhlaas thrice.
After seeing lots of smiling Mini Muslimah's before and after each session it made entire day.
On Wednesday the following was carried out on the different stations:
- As discussed on Monday, Wonderful things everyone agreed Parents and family were top of list. So at the start of the session I read out a letter to my parents of how grateful I am for what they've done for me.
-Be a poet and write a acrostic poem for their mother/father
- A opportunity to fill pastries to eat at Iftaar
- To draw a fruit and write how that fruit describes them best (for example, I am Banana because I am always smiling) - which was then stuck on to large baskets which explained how Allah has made us all unique and different yet special. And if we were all of one sort the world would be such a boring place. Which was explained with the ayat from the Quran.
- Spiritual Circle Time: respecting parents and how to speak to others
The session was ended with a collective Zikr Majlis, Hadith of the day and recitation of Surah Ikhaas thrice.
When Wednesday's session finished I was really upset because their was not much time left with the Mini Muslimah's but I tried to make up of the time I had left. :(
On Thursday the following was carried out on the different stations:
- A collective time with all the Mini Muslimah's to pray a Nasheed
- As discussed on Monday about wonderful things in Ramadhan, Lailatul Qadr was top five of the list
- A opportunity to make a tasbeeh
- Spiritual Circle Time:
Tonight I will try too.... And dua booklet
- A opportunity to make a chocolate desert to share with family, friends or neighbours.
The session ended with a collective Zikr Majlis, Hadith of the day and recitation of Surah Ikhlaas thrice. Also a chance to tell the other Mini Muslimah's what they enjoy about the Ramadhan Fun Week.
As Thursday ended I prayed to the Almighty that the effort the girls take in attending these sessions... Allah grants them all their wishes and ease in everything they do.
On Friday the following was carried out on the different sessions:
- A collective to talk about one of the greatest and wonderful things Allah has granted us- Eid.
- Decorate a candy cone which was then filled with goodies and treats
- Spiritual Circle Time: Life beyond Ramadhan and blessings of Eid
- Word-searches and crosswords
The session ended with a collective Zikr majlis and Hadith of the day. We then had a special nasheed for all the helpers of The Mini Muslimah Crew. 'بدل دي دل'
Friday was the end of the Ramadhan Fun Week. The Nasheed made me emotional- tears of happiness to all those that have helped make this journey possible. As well as that it was like all the Mini Muslimah's had disappeared and all I could see was my Marhoom uncle nodding his head and smiling at me. As the Nasheed ended I once again made the Mini Muslimah's recite Surah Ikhlaas thrice.
Each Mini Muslimah was given a 'The Mini Muslimah Crew Ramadhan Fun Book' filled with recipes of the different things they made, word searches, quizzes and much more. Also there was a special Eid Gift for girls which attended for 3+ days of the week.
Firstly a very very big Jazakallah to all the Mini Muslimah's which attended the Ramadhan Fun Week and also to their parents for their support and time throughout the week. I pray that Allah the Almighty grants you pious children and gives you Barkat and success in everything that befalls you. Inshallah.
Another big Jazakallah to the helpers of the week- Tasneem Apa, Nadia Apa, Farhin Apa, Fatima Apa and Uzma Apa. Also Madam Hamida and Madam Rehana (as the girls like to call you). Jazakallah for being by my side throughout the entire Mini Muslimah journey. May Allah wrap you all in his cotton wool of Takwa, shower his Barkat on you and grant you success with all the challenges and dreams you wish for. Your help, time and support can't be explained but I know Allah will reward you for this. Inshallah. (Also the fact you would have to wake up early for this)
Another big Jazakallah to Mufti Khalid for his continuous support. Without the committee of Quwwatul Islam Madrasa, The Mini Muslimah Crew wouldn't be where it is today. So jazakallah for everything you've done help make the Ramadhan Fun Week possible.
And last but not least, a big Jazakallah to the well wishers of The Mini Muslimah Crew. Your lovely texts, calls and surprise visits touched my heart. So Jazakallah for always being there.
